Alice Fiorilli
I grew-up in a family of photographers and I was exposed at a very early age to the different aspects of that profession. Even if I always had an interest in it I did not think I could make of photography my profession until when during one of my extended trips in India I got into a hospital run by volunteers practicing polio corrective surgeries. I made a reportage of the project and back in Europe I showed my work. I immediately started working as a photographer, almost as a natural consequence.
Today, when I question myself on why I want to keep working in this environment I come to consider that aesthetics is something important to me when it allows creating a link with an idea, a person, a sentiment. I always thought photography is useful in documenting a moment, a place, a sensation, a concept.
I lived in Italy, France, India, United Kingdom and Belgium. I like travelling and living in diverse situations. I have always lived and worked in highly multicultural environments and enjoy it.
I currently live in Milan.
